Resources & utilisation

Add your people in the Resources view, give them a weekly capacity and (optionally) a daily rate, and shadow-planner keeps a running answer to the planner's most important question: who is overloaded, and when?

The Utilisation view

The Utilisation view shows each person's planned allocation against their capacity, week by week, across every project in the scenario — over-capacity weeks are highlighted so conflicts jump out. Costs roll up from daily rates, so the same view doubles as a budget check. Planned allocation values can be edited directly in the grid.

You can also just ask: the chat assistant answers questions like "who has free capacity in October?" and can rebalance assignments for you — with a preview before any bulk change is applied.

Filtering, and saving your filters

The Gantt and Utilisation views share a filter bar: chips for projects and labels (Utilisation adds people and resource-manager chips), plus a free-text search. When you've built a filter you'll want again, press Save filter and name it.

• Saved filters appear in both views' pickers, with a badge showing where each was created. Applying a Utilisation filter in the Gantt simply drops the chip types the Gantt doesn't support — with a toast telling you so.
• A filter captures the chips and the search text — not layout preferences like column visibility or the date-range preset, which stay per device.
• From the picker you can apply, rename, overwrite with the current filter state, or delete a saved filter. There is no limit on how many you save, on any tier.
• Filters are stored per scenario in your database, so they survive app updates.
