Today shadow-planner is a desktop app: one person, one machine, a local database. That is deliberate, and it is not going away.

But plans rarely belong to one person. The resourcing lead, the project managers and the people whose weeks are being planned all need the same picture, and they need it to stay in sync. shadow-planner for enterprise is the same planner, served as a workspace your whole organisation signs in to.

What stays the same

The engine is the desktop app, not a rewrite. Everything you know carries over:

Projects, epics and tasks on a Gantt with finish-to-start links and a cascade that keeps workday counts.
Utilisation by person or by project, with absences and plan-vs-actual.
Scenarios, snapshots and baselines for what-if planning.
The chat assistant that reads and writes the plan through tools, pauses for approval on cascades, and sits on the same undo stack as you.
The planning agent that drafts a whole project from a brief.
Undo and redo for every change, yours or the AI's.

What's new for enterprise

One workspace, many people

Everyone signs in through your organisation's identity provider (single sign-on via OpenID Connect). Four roles: owner, admin, planner and viewer. Viewers never take a seat.

Isolated by design

Each organisation gets its own workspace with its own database and its own sign-in realm. Nothing is shared between customers. Hosted in an EU region.

An audit log

Who changed what, and when. Every write to the plan and every settings change is recorded in the workspace, visible to the people who need it.

AI you control

AI is off until an owner turns it on. The workspace is locked to the providers you allow, with an EU-friendly default, and provider keys are sealed at rest.

Backed up for you

Point-in-time recovery plus nightly encrypted backups for each workspace, with a documented restore procedure.

Or run it yourself

The self-hosted edition is the same container image and the same Helm chart. Bring your own identity provider and PostgreSQL, activate with a licence file. It never phones home.

Plans

Paid plans will be seat-based with unlimited projects and resources. We are planning three, Team, Business and Enterprise, with the planning agent on Business and up, and invoicing on Enterprise. Every new workspace will start with a 30-day trial. Prices are not set yet and will be published here when they are.

The desktop app keeps its own pricing: a free tier and a one-time purchase.

Questions you might have

Is the desktop app being replaced?

No. The desktop app stays, with its one-time purchase and its local database. shadow-planner for enterprise is a second product for organisations that need shared plans.

When can I use it?

There is no date yet. The first workspaces will be set up by us for a small number of early organisations before self-service sign-up exists. If that could be you, get in touch.

Can I stay in the EU?

Yes. Hosted workspaces run in an EU region, each with its own database. If that is still not enough, the self-hosted edition runs entirely inside your own infrastructure.
